Are you thinking about learning more about energy work
or choosing a particular healing modality.

Reiki, Shambhala, Tera-mai, all healing modalities…
Tips and things to look out for…
Part 1.

Part 1 of this message is aimed at those who are feeling the urge to learn how to work with energy through a healing modality. There is undeniable proof that the masses are awakening to the highest human potential, everywhere one looks, the world is changing. It must be said that although we call them healing modalities, they are much more than that, though in truth, when it all boils down to the core, everything that helps us transform the old to the new may also be considered healing. We ask you therefore to feel the word “Healing” in its broadest possible perspective.

Have you ever worked with or thought of learning a healing modality such as Reiki, Shambhala, Tera-mai, healing touch etc? There are so many of them out there now, one could be forgiven for not knowing which to choose, if indeed one does. In this article we wish to share some insights with you. So many around the world are now awakening to broader perspectives on LIFE and opening to the potentials we have as human beings, there are responsibilities from the seeker and the teacher. We hope to touch on some in this article.

First of all, which ever healing modality you decide to work with is perfect for YOU. You may trust that your guidance or higher self is steering you in that direction because it will assist you to move forward in your evolutionary process here on earth. Through the many hundreds I have done, I have always found that the teacher and the student are brought together because they will both be giving and receiving. The teacher will generally also learn something from the student.

Secondly, let me ask a question. When you go to an appliance store or a car showroom for instance, what do you do? You ask questions, you get information on the appliance to find out if it is going to suite your needs.

All healing modalities serve a purpose and though they may differ in their techniques they were all given us to expand our awareness of who and what we are. We would like to offer you some tips on how to choose, certain things that you can look out for.

At some point you will be guided to a teacher of these energies, or perhaps even several. There are a great many reasons people choose to teach these modalities, some are for the greater good of the all and some occasionally are mainly for the good of the person teaching them. (ego based)

Here are some things that you might want to look out for when seeking a teacher that is going to assist you for your greater good…You are being asked here to take responsibility for yourself and your choices though in fairness if you don’t know what your choices are or possible pitfalls how can you make conscious, responsible choices. Here are some tips that will help you make a conscious choice for YOU…

    1. When you contact a teacher one of the first things you need to discern is the financial side. What is it going to cost you? If the amount seems to be out of proportion, it would probably be good to avoid them as they are most likely only doing them for financial gain.

    2. How long have they been teaching the modality? There is nothing wrong with being taught by someone who is learning/expanding their skills, though it should be in proportion with the price.

    3. How much time are they going to spend on you for the amount you are paying? Again if this sounds out of proportion, it more than likely is and you might want to shop around for a while first.

    4. What has the modality they are teaching done for them. Listen carefully, there will be many clues here as to whether this person is working from the heart or ego.

    5. Are they communicating with the LIGHT beings that assist from the other side? This too is important, you will be able to discern from this whether they are new to teaching, which is ok, though it should be out in the open and again in proportion.

    6. If the teacher is offering their services for nothing? This too contains clues you want to be aware of.
Are they just starting out teaching the modality, in these cases they are honing their skills and you are doing each other a service. Do they have abundance issues that they will more than likely also pass on to you? An important aspect of human psyche on a subconscious level is: If it costs nothing, then it is more than likely worth nothing. Ask lots of questions, it could also be just because they love to give and they love to do what thy are doing.

    7. What kind of after service do they offer? In our experience and research we have found that many teachers do the attunements/initiations and that is then the end of it. You are basically left on your own to discover the next steps in your journey. This is something that you will need to trust your gut intuition on as only time will tell if they are true to their statements. Find out if they are open to and willing to assist you after you have received the modality. Ask questions on how?

It is important to trust your intuition or inner guidance, if it feels good with the teacher you have selected then you can be almost certain that this is the best person to teach you. Teacher/student relationships work to the highest potential when there is trust.

On a personal note:
I have been a master teacher now for five years, (Shambhala SMDH & Elements) I have done hundreds of attunements and I have gone through all of the phases mentioned above. I always made sure that anyone I attuned knew that I was available after the attunements to assist them wherever they needed it. I also made absolute certain that they knew it was their responsibility to reach out and ask if they did need assistance.

For some time now we have been giving monthly classes where our students could come and practice their skills together. We found that this gives great confidence and helps them past natural fears present in most everybody when working with something new. Now I am not saying here that everyone should do that, because not all of us are going to be born teachers. I am saying however that when groups do get together there are a great many wonderful experiences shared and gained from the groups which benefit all. This might also be a question you want to ask your potential teacher. Do they have practice groups for after achieving the masters or if they are a member of one?
